ABOUT DR. GORDON

 

Dr. Gordon is trained in both general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. She graduated from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and did both residency and fellowship at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is board certified in both specialties. Her private practice is diverse but currently mostly young adults and adolescents. Her work specializes in a variety of problems such as ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, devopmental and learning issues and parent-child relationship problems. Her skills include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and she is also very experienced in helping families when appropriate. She has taught residents and fellows as well as other students extensively. A seasoned clinician, she has consulted for the public schools as well as psychoanalytic institutes. She has worked at several clinics and was a medical director of a day treatment program for children all the while having a private practice. She has diverse interests spanning from psychotherapy, relationships, technology, privacy, sexuality, ethics, health care policy, nutrition and fitness to physicians’ mental health. She is interested in social media and the digital age. She has published on several topics including ethics and the mental health of medical students. She is a member of the APA, AAAP, AAPS and MSSNY. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
